“F*** you for breaking my f***ing heart…”
This is the heart-breaking yet hilarious story of Jimmy Rowland and Erin Poppet.
Jimmy Rowland has the perfect life. He works in his favourite bar by day, and by night he lives his dream with his two best friends in his band.
Erin Poppet crashes into Jimmy’s life like a beautiful storm. He falls in love with her as quickly and as deeply as possible. The intensity of their relationship leaves Jimmy with a broken heart, a useless vacuum and a demon inside him.
Jimmy’s dream life quickly becomes a nightmare when he loses his dream job and destroys his musical career live on stage.
When he hits rock bottom, he decides he only has one choice, to rebuild his life from scratch. He has to get back the life he had before Erin.
This is her story. This is his story. This is their story.
Or as Jimmy would say…
“… this is the story of You, Me and Us.”

Hello hello!!

This book was sent to me I exchange of an honest review

At first, I’d like to apologise for how short this review might be, but I’ve been reading lots of romance lately that apparently I’m burning out and I’m feeling that ugly dreaded reading slump making its return.

tenor.gif
Anyway, this story is told from one POV. Although I would have preferred if it was dual just to know what the other character had in mind.

Jimmy is this awkward guy that I had a hard time following his thoughts and actions. There were moments when I wanted to shake him yelling “Make your mind!! man up and just do it, good dammit
He appeared to be weak (in term of personality), needy (SUPER) and clingy/possessive making it look like his life revolves around one specific girl.

I don’t know about Erin, but she appeared to be a complete jerk. Leading her boyfriend on rather than properly communicating with him about what she truly wanted or when she felt things are being rushed than usual.

The ending is kinda blurry and confusing, at least to me, It didn’t help that I finished reading the book by midnight, with a foggy-sleep-deprived brain 😂

Falling for someone can be so easy: you do it.
You don’t think about it rationally.
You think with your heart.
But, sometimes there is a big gap between what you want to happen and the reality: destiny plays with your life making things harder.
Maggie Reynolds is a college girl. She never thought she could fall in love.
The idea that someone could actually see her like a potential girlfriend started to fade in her mind.
She is quite shy, the girl who doesn’t want attention upon her.
Logan O’connor is a boy that is trying to make a dream come true.
He wants to be a pilot. He is bold, attractive and makes all the girls swoon.
Their meeting is funny and unpredictable.
Probably it’s from that very moment that their lives will change forever.
The ‘unexpected’ is right around the corner, and you can never be prepared. Especially if it is about love.

**MY UNEXPECTED is a stand alone, full-length contemporary romance. Due to sex scenes, a blonde witty heroine, and a too-hot to be true and surprising hero, it is recommended to readers ages 16 up.**

Hello everyone,

This book was sent to me I exchange of an honest review

Today’s review is of our newest author Lia Gilmore who has just made her debut with this novel.

The story is told from a dual POV.
Maggie Reynolds a shy “nerdy” girl who meets (more like bumps into lol) her new classmate Logan O’Connor who’s dream is to become a pilot.

the story is cute yet I felt it’s kinda rushed most if the time, like when Maggie met Logan and suddenly she’s all jealous and hurt when he’s talking to other girls, and when they said the L word.

Maggie seems like a fun cute girl especially with her blushing. But she’s a weak character that there were moments where I was so frustrated with her.

Logan is described as this hot dude that girls would fell under his spell in a matter of seconds only to become a cheating jerk once he moves to the states because he so misses his long-distance girlfriend. what a terrible excuse!!

On another note, At the mention of any pilot from any other book, my mind totally imagines Miles Archer (from Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover) is it just me? lol

This is the debut novel of a debut author whom I wish the best of luck in the future.

Casey Williams and her family are poor. Her parents work non-stop and so does she, just so they can keep the trailer roof from leaking.
They’re getting by fine enough when the headaches start. Then there’s the nosebleeds. And the inevitable doctor’s bills.
Fortunately for Casey, there’s MyTrueMatch.com: an exclusive, quick, and almost easy way to pay it all back before her parents even have to know.
All she has to do is give a man she’s never met whatever he wants from her body.
Inside or out

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review

I had not read a book by Nikki Rae before, and after checking the blurb of this book I was interested to see if I would like its style, characters and the story.
Know that I haven’t read much paranormal/fantasy books before.

The story is told from one point of view, Casey’s to be more precise. It is a short novella set into chapters.

The novella is mainly about two characters: Casey and Jonah. Casey is a young girl who desperately needs money to help support her family, always putting their needs above hers.
Jonah, an older man whom Casey gets to know on a dating website and then flies out to meet him and be his “donor”.

Casey has cancer but her family is struggling badly.. her parents already have enough money problems, she never told them about her illness. After Casey discovers MyTrueMatch.com she decides to become a donor for Jonah. She wasn’t sure what it was exactly, but was willing to do it for her parents’ sake.
Jonah as a vampire in his forties, has a daughter with serious health issues and needs a lung transplant. Surprise! Surprise!! who might the match be? you probably thought right

I didn’t feel a connection to any of the characters, sadly and I truly don’t know if I like it or not. there are some stuff that did get me confused: The back and forth between past and present, the ending is definitely ain’t a happy one. If you like tragedies, then you might enjoy this.

I salute Nikki though for tackling such a topic like this, in a paranormal style, with a good writing.

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.
But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.
Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

Hello,

I saw the movie trailer and I knew I HAD to give the book a go! And here we go lol

The story’s start was slow ( I almost gave up reading honestly..) but the more you carry towards the half, the better it gets.
There are cute little drawings that I liked! And there are book spoilers..woopsie.

Madeline, The main character, is biracial girl (African-American/Japanese) who has a disease that doesn’t allow her to go out leaving her house..she’s basically allergic to the world. The only human contact she ever has is with her mother and her nurse.
When the new neighbours move in, she gets to know Olly through emails and she ends up falling in love.

Olly, (or Angel of Death as Maddie called him lol) respective and was always looking out for Maddie’s best interests and attentive to her needs.

Maddie’s mom was a bit too controlling I thought, meanwhile Carla (Madeline’s nurse) was understanding, nice, positive, and encouraging.

Some chapters in the story were short, the picture was the chapter at some cases. The ending was sorta open which I honestly don’t know what to feel about it..

Overall, Everything, Everything was quick read and I’m glad I got it off my list.

Some things aren’t meant to be broken, and therefore can’t be mended – ever. I was one of those things. Whatever had been shattered in the incident would never be whole again.
Amber struggles with the memories of a cruel attack that destroyed her life years ago. Realizing that she’s close to ending it all – something she promised her family to never try again – she moves in with her brother Brian and his friend Zachary to start a new life, and maybe even college. But how can she possibly live a normal life, when even a hug from her brother sends her into a panic attack? While Brian pulls back, Zach seems determined to make her feel relaxed in his presence, and soon her longing to be near him is stronger than her fear. But how can someone like Zach, someone who can have any girl, want someone like her? Someone broken.
When Zach spots Amber for the very first time, he can’t believe she is the same girl his friend Brian described as broken. Suddenly, Zach wants to give up his womanizing ways and help Amber live again – show her that closeness can be something wonderful.
But her brother Brian isn’t the only one who’s worried about the bond that’s growing between Amber and Zach. Even Zach knows that there’s more at stake than the fury of a scorned woman. Amber isn’t like all the girls Zach discarded after a night together – if he messes up, that could break her for good. But Zach can’t stay away from Amber.
Can Zach help her heal? Or will he be the one to push her over the edge?

Hello!!

I, without doubt, love Cora Reilly‘s books (especially, the Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles series!! which I’ll review later) but, this one was my least favorite/..that’s why I rated it 3 Stars.
I’ve read this one over a year ago, this review will be a short one!!

In this story, we read about Amber…a girl who was raped, beaten and left to die three years ago. She suffers severe psychological damage as a result, and tried to kill herself TWICE.
She moves to live with Brian (her brother) along with his roommate Zach.
Living under the same roof as her brother’s roommate/best friend somewhat proved to her that not all men are to be feared…She then starts to develop feelings for Zach and his patient and caring self allows her to slowly open up again.

Due to many women being raped in our world, this is a written story from the victim’s POV of what it takes to survive such an attack.

PS:  contains +18 contents

Happy Reading!
