And they both discover what it really means to fear…
If you haven’t read the first book “Fear Me” in the Broken Love series, this novel won’t be making much sense to you.
The book is written from a dual POV (Lake‘s and Keiran’s). I was so excited when I found out we have chapters from Kieran’s POV.
We have The flashbacks to his childhood; some of them were heartbreaking. They were absolutely necessary and needed for that peak into his mind of we could understand his motives and why not forgive.
Lake has changed since the first book. She was sorta scared now than previously but that girl finally got bite *applause*.
Keiran has changed as well, although he remained that controlling and obsessive fella. I was annoyed by his mood swings; leaving Lake to “protect” her and then returning when she was in danger, I wanted to scream at him to make up his damn mind. It wasn’t very helpful…
Fear You answers most of the questions from Fear Me (first book); Keiran is in jail because of Lake’s accusations. Some unpleasant facts and truth about Lake’s parents mysterious deaths starts popping up alongside with her disappearing aunt’s whereabouts.
Keiran’s memories said so much, all the pieces of the puzzle fall in place. We can understand his actions and the way his mind/thoughts work. In Keiran’s twisted mind, all that bullying for 10 years was due to her reminding him of a little girl (Lilly! yay my nickname lol) who had effected his life. Keiran’s childhood history of being a killer slave dominates the storyline, and Keiran is playing a dangerous game of revenge. That game is going to risk his and Lake’s lives.
When Fear Me ended, Keiran had rejected Lake in order to protect her from his father; Keenan (his cousin) was shot, in critical condition and betrayed by his girlfriend Sheldon.
Fear You did not disappoint me! So many of my questions were answered. I also really love the secondary characters in these books (Keenan, Sheldon, Dash and Willow)
